Furan (oksol, 1-oksatsiklopenta-2,4-dien) - C4H4O formulu olan üzvi birləşmədir. Bir oksigen atomu olan beş üzvlü heterosikldır. Xloroformu xatırladan xarakterik qoxuya malik rəngsiz mayedir. Furfural, tetrahidrofuran, α-metilfuran kimi bir çox praktiki əhəmiyyətı olan maddələrdən ibarət böyük bir qrup üzvi birləşmənin başlanğıc nümayəndəsidir.
Furan rəngsiz, tezalışan, olduqca qeyri-sabit maye olub təqribən otaq temperaturunda qaynayır. Furan toksik və xərçəng əmələ gətirən maddədir.<ref name="xumuk">{{cite web
Çox sayda üzvi birləşmənin əsasıdır. Onların əksəriyyəti, məsələn, furfurol, tetrahidrofuran, silvan (α-metilfuran) praktiki əhəmiyyətə malikdir.<ref name="bse">{{cite web
Təmiz furan turşuların təsiri altında tez polimerləşir.
